Gold Coast: On the second day of the ongoing 21st Commonwealth Games 2018 in Australia's Gold Coast, the Indian women's hockey team returned to its winning ways with a thumping 4-1 win against Malaysia.

It was indeed a great comeback by the Indian side, especially after Thursday's loss to Wales.

In the dying minutes of the game, Lalremsiami got in on the act through a field goal of her own. To sum it up, Gurjit Kaur scored two, while Rani Rampal and Lalremsiami scored one goal apiece.

This was Indian Women Hockey team's first victory in this edition of the Games. Despite facing a defeat to Wales on Thursday, the Indian side showed no signs of fatigue or lack of confidence as they faced Malaysian rivals.

Next up for the women's team will be England on Sunday.

The second day of the ongoing 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia's Gold Coast took a brilliant start with Manipuri weightlifter Khumukcham Sanjita Chanu winning Gold in the women’s 53kg event at the Carrara Sports and Leisure Centre on Friday.

This was followed by country's promising boxer Nama Tanwar's victory over his Tanzanian opponent Haruna Mhando by a unanimous verdict.

The 19-year-old boxer defeated Tanzania’s Mhando by a unanimous verdict (30-26, 30-25, 30-26, 30-24, 30-24) to progress into the men’s 91kg quarter-finals.
