PATNA: Aspirants appearing for the Sub Inspector examinations were on Friday lathicharged by the Patna police at Kargil Chowk in the city. The lathicharge took place when the aspirants were protesting against the alleged leak of question paper for Sub Inspector examinations.

The aspirants were demanding that the exam be called off. They had even called for Friday to be observed as black day. Several applicants joined the rally and reached the Gandhi Maidan to protest against the alleged paper leak.

The protestors even threw stones at the Bihar Police officers. The police had to then resort to lathicharge to disperse the crowd and maintain the law and order situation. Several vehicles were damaged in the protest.

Many applicants have been injured in the incident. They also reportedly threw stones at passersby. They have been protesting for the past three days seeking cancellation of the exam. They are seeking a fair and neutral enquiry into the allegations. They have threatened that they will launch an agitation if their demands are not met. 

Protestors have claimed that the question paper was leaked two hours ahead of the exam and the copies of the questions went viral.
