New Delhi: Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar took a big initiative by launching an app for the families of martyrs who put their lives at stake for protecting the nation.

However, the actor addressed an important issue regarding the fraudulent sites which are also doing the rounds.

Akshay tweeted on Wednesday: "Sad to know and share lots of fraudulent apps/sites are doing the rounds, the only initiative I am associated with is bharatkeveer.gov.in."

Akki launched the app through which common man can donate money for the families of martyrs killed in the line of duty.

On CRPF day (April 9, 2017), Home Minister Rajnath Singh launched the web portal titled Bharat Ke Veer at the Vigyan Bhawan where Akshay Kumar was also present. Anyone can donate up to Rs 15 lakh to family of a martyred jawan or officer of CAPFs.

The National Film Award-winner is currently busy shooting for 'Padman' which happens to be wifey Twinkle Khanna's maiden production venture as well. It has Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte in the lead.
