New Delhi: After swaying us all in 'Bajirao Mastani', actor Ranveer Singh is back in action with yet another period drama Padmaavat. The bundle of energy actor will be seen playing Alauddin Khilji on the big screens.
Padmaavat is finally going to see the light of the day on January 25, 2018, after days of protests. Shri Rajput Karni Sena demanded a nation-wide ban on the film claiming that it presents the titular character of Rani Padmavati in the bad light.
Also, they allege that the filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali has distorted historical facts in his venture. Despite getting a green signal from the apex court of the country which maintained that no state can put a ban on the film, Karni Sena members are protesting against the order.
Ranveer, who will be seen playing Alauddin Khilji on the big screens shared a picture collage of his character with a caption: “MONSTER #Khilji #Padmaavat”

Padmaavat features Deepika Padukone in the titular role of Rani Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor plays her on-screen husband Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji respectively.
The film remains a solo hit this January 25th as Akshay Kumar's PadMan release has been pushed to February 9, 2018.
