Not just the film fraternity and fans but politicians too have extended their condolences to the family in this hour of grief. President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and wrote:

PTI quoted her as saying, “Vinodji had a rare and profound influence over the masses with his simple and charismatic character," she said, adding he dominated the silver screen with his outstanding persona.
She expressed solidarity with Khanna's family and prayed for the departed soul.
