Just 17 when she made her showbiz debut, the sizzler has successfully leaped from being a tely bahu to the sassy, chic Bollywood actress in a mere span of 3 years. After mesmerizing the audience with her subtle act in Rock On, the enchantress is gearing up to prove her acting mettle with no less than the best filmmakers in the industry. As of today, Prachi Desai is not only a promising star but also a brand endorsing one of the world’s leading cosmetic company’s Neutrogena. Dressed in a sassy peach number, Prachi shared her aspirations, fitness secrets and dream co-stars with Tanu Talwar of Spicezee.com.
Tanu :After a film like ‘Rock On’ why did you choose to do ‘Life Partner’ that was bound to bomb at the Box Office? Prachi: I was just looking for something different at that time. And when ‘Life Partner’ was offered, I simply loved the script. I love doing comedy. And unlike what so many believe, comedy is a far tougher task than serious roles. And I also feel that comedies are never brainless. A lot of hard work and thought go into making comic capers. Tanu :So, how was it working with Govinda? Prachi: Oh, it was so much fun. I had a great time. We all had a blast while shooting. He is a very humble and funny person. Tanu :Which is the next film that you are really kicked about? Prachi: As of now, I am shooting for ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’. It has Kangana Ranaut, Ajay Devgn and Emraan Hashmi. I am so looking forward to this film. I feel that it’s very different from the kind of movies we see today. The film is set in 1970’s and it shows how Mumbai, its culture, its people and society was during that period. Tanu :Besides ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’, what other projects do you have? Prachi: There are a lot more movies in the pipeline. However, since they are all in the planning stages, I feel that it’s way too early to talk about them. But you’ll get to see a lot more of me in the coming year. Tanu :What the secret behind your glowing skin? Share some beauty tips Prachi: Eating healthy and non-oily food help. Then again, I drink a lot of water and exercise as it helps promote better blood circulation. But as for skin care, I trust only established brands. One biggest beauty tip is never to sleep with make up on. No matter how tired I am I always take my make-up off before hitting the bed. And cleaning, toning and moisturizing your skin twice a day is a must. But above all, I feel that staying happy gives one a natural glow. Tanu :You started romancing the screen pretty young. Do you feel that you had to make a lot of compromises? Prachi: Well, yes. I missed out on a lot of stuff. Starting out so young, I grew up with people who were a lot older than me and I really feel deprived for not being able to hang out with my friends. I miss my own age group. But I guess everything has its own positive and negative aspects. Though I do miss doing fun things, I also think that the early break has helped me gain a better understanding of the industry. I have learnt a lot at a very young age and I am grateful for that. Tanu :TV gave you your first break. In future, would your Telly fans see you on the small screen again? Prachi: No. TV is completely off limits as of now. I am not saying that I would never do TV but for now, it’s a definite NO. I just want to work really hard and become an accomplished actress. I have so much to achieve. Tanu :So where do you see yourself 5 years from now… Prachi: Oh, that’s a tough one. But seriously I don’t have a route marked out. I feel that every actress has dreams and aspirations and we all want to do well. And I just hope that I can do my best. Tanu :Who is your dream co-star? Prachi: Actually, I have two. I really want to work with Hrithik and Shahid. Tanu :And which actor has the best body as per you? Prachi: I think John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan look fabulous. Tanu :You have essayed a serious role and even acted in a comic caper. What kind of roles are you looking at now? Prachi: Well, until now I have done roles that are way too mature for my age. Now I just want to do youthful roles where I can play my age. I am looking at different, but young roles. Tanu :What’s your style quotient? Prachi: It has to comfortable. As long as I am comfortable in what I wear, I know I will look good. Tanu :Fun to you is... Prachi: Anything that is exciting and gets my pulse racing. I am very adventurous person and I love to do things that are not ordinary.
