Glad to be alive in 2009: Amitabh Bachchan

That he is humble is quite well known, but he is a simple man at heart is a revelation for the fans of Amitabh Bachchan. The Big B- oops, he doesn’t like being called that-, the Shahenshah of Indian cinema was simply thankful that he was alive in 2009. As Big Boss and this year come to a close, Shashank Chouhan of spicezee.com gets chatty with Amitabh Bachchan.Shashank: Now that it’s over, how do you look at your second stint on the small screen?

Amitabh: It was a novel experience to the one I had done earlier – different parameters, different thoughts and presented differently. Shashank: When it was getting dirty on the show, what did you think- did you want to intervene, quit or what? Amitabh: I would wait for Friday and then go in and talk to them and question their behaviour and seek reason. ShashankYou were asking everybody on the finale ‘whom do you think will win’. What would have been your answer? Amitabh: I am required to be not involved in the process and therefore giving my personal choice for public consumption would be inappropriate. I will respect the choice of the people who voted. ShashankWhat was the most interesting part for you on the show? Amitabh: The moment of public confession. It requires a very strong mind to be able to speak out your inner feelings in front of others. ShashankDo you think, again in retrospect, that all of the behavior of the inmates was real- some of it certainly was to grab attention… Amitabh: Well…I would like to believe that all the housemates were honest in their approach to the game. ShashankWho surprised you the most on the show and why? Amitabh: There were no surprises for me. I was there to view them dispassionately, and I did just that. ShashankHave you got more offers for television shows? Amitabh: Yes, indeed I have. They are being considered. You will know about them when something is finalized. Shashank:As the year ends, what was the most memorable thing of 2009 and what is it that you would like to forget… Amitabh: That I was alive. How can one ever forget that!! Shashank: What is Big B looking forward to in 2010? Amitabh: My name is Amitabh Bachchan. I do not subscribe to the epithet you mention. I look forward to life.
