Hyderabad: Human beings might at times acquire strange hues, be they positive or negative. One reflects the shameless justification of guilt whereas the other portrays the humane side of man’s nature. Two stories by Zee News correspondents Prasaad Bhosekar and Rakesh Kumar from Hyderabad portray the different traits that human nature is capable of imbibing. One story reflects the shades of a man who tries to throw bad light on his wife to justify his action of getting rid of her by forcibly getting her married to someone else. Whereas the other displays the humility of one who happily embraces an orphan and marries her.
In one case, the husband, Sanjit Biswas, from Adilabad district first accused his wife Thumpa of sleeping with another man. Next he got her to sign a promissory note and got her married to her distant relative whom he accused of sleeping with Thumpa in Sanjit’s absence. As misfortune would have it, this was done as her helpless parents watched over the events. The irony of the matter is also that the couple had not only had a love marriage but had also been wedded for four years. The woman lost hope here and tried unsuccessfully to commit suicide in a state of utter hopelessness. But with family support and through the help of the women’s commission, she lodged a complaint with the police. The other case pin points the struggle of a girl who lost her parents as a child and was raised up in an orphanage called Aarti Home in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. She rose to win accolades for the Home after winning a gold medal in BSc nursing. This impressed a software engineer Shiv Charan who himself offered her his hand in marriage with the glad approval of his parents. His was a destined chance encounter with his bride-to-be. The purpose of Charan’s visit to the orphanage was purely charitable. But after he came to know of Sowbhagya, he decided then and there that this was the woman whom he wanted as his companion for life. He got married to her amidst the ovation emanating from his family and the people of the orphanage. In the first story, shines forth the sheer selfishness of a man who acts against the call of his conscience. His callous self-centered behaviour does not stop short of harming the target of his crime. On the other hand is portrayed the kindness of a man who wants to help others and also without a second thought knows that he will be happy with the orphan girl whom he spotted at the orphanage.
