J’Lo ‘Waiting for Tonight’, as she turns 39!

If we were to replace ‘sensuous’ with a synonym in the dictionary, it would have been conveniently done putting with Jennifer Lopez. J’Lo, as she is lovingly known as, has always been the ultimate object of fantasy for all men out there. The diva, being a reason enough to be desired by men, is even sought after by women for the distinct fashion sense that she flaunts. From a terrific actress to the superbly talented singer, Jennifer Lopez has remarkably achieved it all. The lady always had the determination to be a superstar, and could foresee her success at a very young age. From Jennifer Lopez to J’Lo Jennifer Lynn Lopez was born in the South Bronx to Guadalupe Rodriguez, a kindergarten teacher and David Lopez, a computer specialist. She completed her education at the Preston High School, in Bronx. J’Lo’s immense love for music and films inspired her to take singing and dancing lessons at the young age of 19. After attending Baruch College for a few days, Lopez began to spend most of her time at dance classes, and dance performances in Manhattan night clubs. But her moment as an actress, after a spate of few television programmes, came in 1995 with ‘My Family’. After this, she starred in ‘Money Train’ opposite Wesley Snipes. Lopes was even nominated for the Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Actress- Motion Picture Musical or Comedy’ in 1998 for her role in ‘Selena’. She then moved on to the big league, becoming the first Hispanic actress to get USD 1 million or more for a role. The actress’ most commercially successful role was in ‘Maid in Manhattan’. Swinging to the tunes Jennifer’s musical career, however, has been appreciated more than the acting skills. Who can ever forget ‘Waiting for Tonight’. The song became a rage as soon as it was released, and everyone shook a leg to its beat. Lopez`s debut album ‘On the 6’ , a reference to the 6 subway line that she used to take growing up in Castle Hill, was released on June 1, 1999, and reached the top ten of the Billboard 200. The album featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one lead single, "If You Had My Love", as well as the top ten hit "Waiting for Tonight". "Let`s Get Loud", the final single, earned Lopez a Grammy Award nomination in the "Best Dance Recording" category in 2001. J’Lo, the fashionista In 2003, Lopez launched her own clothing line called ‘JLO’. The fashion range mainly catered to women with distinctive designer jeans, T-shirts, coats, belts, purses, and lingerie, a jewellry line, and an accessory line that included hats, gloves, and scarves. Lopez participated in the Louis Vuitton Winter 2003 campaign. In 2005, she launched a new clothing line called Sweetface. In late 2007, Lopez retired JLO by Jennifer Lopez and launched a new juniors` line called JustSweet. Her fashion lines have featured at many New York Fashion Week events. In search of true love… Sadly, Lopez has always been down on luck in terms of her love life and relationships. She married David Cruz at the tender age of 16. But the relationship could not last long and ended in her 25th year. She then married a Cuban actor, Ojani Noa, but got a divorce within one year of the wedding. Lopez then decided to move on in life and soon got married to Sean Puff Daddy, the famous rapper, in 1999. But two years later, the marriage dissolved as the two proceeded to the court for separation. Another two years, and she was in the court once again for divorce with Cristan Lee Judd, whom she had married in 2001. But, Jennifer’s most talked about high profile romance has been with the handsome actor Ben Affleck. However, they never reached the altar, and the relationship sadly concluded in 2004. In search of true love, she married the famous singer, Marc Anthony, and the couple now two twins Max and Emme. But ‘one can’t get everything in life’, seems apt for this lady! With the kind of grit J’Lo has been showing over the years, she is sure to achieve many more milestones and has many more men to kill with her oomphalicious body and stunning looks.
