Nobel Prize 2016: Here are the winners

New York: Awarded for 'the Greatest Benefit to Mankind,' the Nobel Prize is an international award administered by the Nobel Foundation in Stockholm, Sweden, and based on the fortune of Alfred Nobel, Swedish inventor and entrepreneur. The 2016 Nobel Prize season kicked off with the announcement of the medicine prize on October 3, saw nominations of 376 candidates - the largest ever number of nominees, the previous record being 278 in 2014.
