Commodore Rawat takes charge of Jamnagar IAF air base

Rawat on Tuesday took charge of Air Force Station at Jamnagar which
is considered to be a premier frontline fighter air base of
Indian Air Force (IAF), an official statement said.
Rawat, who was conferred with Vishisht Seva Medal in
2002, was commissioned into IAF in December 1980 as a fighter
pilot, it added.
According to the release, Rawat is an alumni of the
prestigious Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and
National Defence College (NDC).
Rawat is a fighter combat leader and has flown MIG-21
and MIG-29 aircrafts.
Prior to his doing NDC, Rawat was Deputy Commandant at
College of Air Warfare. He has held many important command
and staff appointments including Command of an Air Defence
Direction Centre (ADDC).
