Arrested LeT operative's phone calls, email IDs being analysed

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Hyderabad City Police has started analysing phone call details and email IDs of alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operative Mohammad Zia Ul Haq, official sources said Saturday.

Haq was brought to the SIT office from Cherlapally Prison here last evening after a local court permitted the police to take him into custody till May 15 for further questioning, they said.

"The questioning is going on. We are trying to establish on how Haq was assigned by his LeT handlers to carry out terror attacks in Hyderabad," an investigating officer tolda news agency.

"We are also analysing his phone call details and going through his email accounts to gather more information on all such directions before preparing the confession letter," the officer said.

LeT handlers had directed him to bomb the office of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu and he was in the process of carrying out the plan, government sources had earlier said.

Haq was arrested from Edibazar here on May 3.
