Centre approves 9600 cr for J&K highways

Srinagar: The Centre has approved an outlay of Rs 9625 crore for the National Highways project in Jammu and Kashmir, involving the development and upgradation of
roads and construction of two new tunnels.
This was revealed at a high-level meeting to review the road projects of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) presided over by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, an official release said here today.
The project involves construction of two 10-km-long Qazigund-Banihal and Chenani-Nashri tunnels on the Srinagar-Jammu highway.
