Govt to ask states to tighten security ahead of 26/11 New Delhi: Ahead of the anniversaries of 26/11 and Babri Masjid demolition, the government has decided to send an advisory to all states asking them to tighten security to foil any attempt by anyone to disturb peace, particularly in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.

The Home Ministry will ask states and Union Territories to deploy additional forces in markets, religious and other public places to keep extra vigil in view of the second anniversary of Mumbai terror attack on November 26 and Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on December 6.

The alert is being sounded suspecting that Pakistan-based terror groups Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed or home grown Indian Mujahideen may try to target in major cities in the run up to the two events.

The Centre will also the states and UTs to install CCTV cameras and other electronics gadgets as much as possible in crowded places to monitor movement of people, metal detectors for a thorough check up of people.
