Govt to ask states to tighten security ahead of 26/11
New Delhi: Ahead of the anniversaries of
26/11 and Babri Masjid demolition, the government has decided
to send an advisory to all states asking them to tighten
security to foil any attempt by anyone to disturb peace,
particularly in major cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
The Home Ministry will ask states and Union
Territories to deploy additional forces in markets, religious
and other public places to keep extra vigil in view of the
second anniversary of Mumbai terror attack on November 26 and
Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on December 6.
The alert is being sounded suspecting that
Pakistan-based terror groups Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed
or home grown Indian Mujahideen may try to target in major
cities in the run up to the two events.
