Asst station manager, porters flee after 'Maoists' appear
Purulia: The assistant station master and porters at the Urma station in West Bengal's Purulia district locked it up and fled after two persons claiming to be Maoists asked them to leave, a senior official said on Friday.
The two persons were unarmed and they did not have any leaflets, but the assistant station master and two porters left the station immediately when they identified themselves as Maoists late last night, Divisional Railway Manager AK Halder said.
The two persons did not cause any harm, he added.
There are no trains at night at the station on the Purulia-Chandel station of the South Eastern Railway's Adra Division, Halder said, adding, train services resumed from 9:00 am this morning.
