Utsav, Pandher share room in Dasna jail hospital

Ghaziabad: Utsav Sharma, who had inflicted grievous wounds on murdered teenager Aarushi's father Rajesh Talwar outside a Ghaziabad court, is sharing a room with Moninder Singh Pandher, one of the main accused in the Nithari serial killing case, in the Dasna district jail hospital here, a top official said on Saturday.

30-year-old Sharma is undergoing mental treatment at the jail hospital while Pandher is admitted since last 10 days as he is suffering from high blood pressure.

"Utsav Sharma is being looked after by jail doctors three times in a day, but due to lack of space in the hospital he has been put in the same room where Pandher is already undergoing medical treatment," Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said.

Meanwhile, Utsav's mother has moved an application before the Chief Judicial Magistrate for her son's proper medical treatment as he reportedly suffers from personality disorders, he said, adding her application has been forwarded to the Dasna jail authorities.

However, the jail superintendent said Pandher is being kept away from Sharma as he is fearful of being attacked by him.

"Pandher has also expressed fear of attack from Utsav Sharma and distance is being maintained between the two beds," the jail superintendent said, adding strict security cover has also been given to both of them.

Utsav Sharma, a resident of Varanasi, slashed 54-year-old Talwar's face with a cleaver on 25th January because he was reportedly upset with the slow progress in the Aarushi-Hemraj twin murder case.

Sharma had in February last year attacked former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore, convicted in the Ruchika molestation case, outside a Panchkula court.
