Lt Governor urges full cooperation to census officials
Puducherry: Puducherry Lt Governor Dr Iqbal
Singh has urged people to actively participate in the 2011
Census from February 9 to 28 and extend all cooperation to
officials during the exercise, being simultaneously held with
that at the national level.
In a message he said about 2,500 trained enumerators and
supervisors would deployed in the Union Territory.' Needless to
say that the data collected should be accurate, reliable and
authentic as this would be used for socio-economic development
planning of the Union Territory.'
Chief Minister V Vaithilingam in his message said the census
would be followed by revisional round from March 1 to 15. Data
collected would not only provide valuable information to plan
and formulate policies and for delimitation, but also be used
by national and international agencies, scholars, business
people, industrialists and several other sections.
He too urged people to extend fullest support and
cooperation in this national exercise.
