Four die, 56 hurt in bomb attacks on Pakistan Navy buses
Islamabad: Two officers, including a woman doctor, were among four people killed in bomb attacks targeting two buses of the Pakistan Navy in the port city of Karachi Tuesday. Fifty-six people were injured.
A navy spokesman said the twin bombings were carried out in different parts of the city.
The bombs were planted on motorcycles parked on the routes of the buses and were detonated through remote control devices, Xinhua reported.
The first attack took place around 7.50 a.m. in the defence area of Karachi. The vehicle was carrying 50 personnel. Two officers were killed and 37 others injured.
The second attack took place about 10 minutes later in the Baldia area of the city in which two people were killed and 19 others injured.
Both the buses were carrying civilians. The injured were shifted to the main navy hospital in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
