Two Britons held in Afghanistan: Report London: Officials say British forces in Afghanistan have detained two people who claim to be British citizens.

The Ministry of Defence on Thursday confirmed the arrests, but said it was not prepared to comment further.

British media reported the two were suspected of fighting for the Taliban.

The Foreign Office confirmed the two were detained and said embassy staff were providing assistance.
