‘Arrested’ for stone pelting minors granted bail
Srinagar: Two 12-year-old boys were on Friday
granted bail by a local court here while another was remanded
to a juvenile home after they were detained by Jammu and
Kashmir police last month on the charge of stone-pelting.
Mohsin Majeed Shah and Burhan Nazir, both born in 1999,
were lodged in the Maharaj Gunj police station here before
being shifted to Juvenile home following the court directions
earlier this week.

While Mohsin was granted bail by the Second Additional
Session Judge, Burhan was granted bail by the Principal
Session Judge at the Saddar Court Complex here.
"Burhan was booked under section 152, which deals with
the Special Offences and only the Principal Sessions Judge
could deal with these cases. The judge granted interim bail
keeping in view the age of the detainee. Burhan is only 12",
advocate Nazir Ahmad Ronga, who pleaded Burhan's case, said.
Another minor, Sajjad, was remanded to Juvenile home till
November 9, a lawyer said.
