Delhi cops crackdown on dubious placement agencies
New Delhi: Twenty four women and five minor
girls, have been rescued from dubious placement agencies
across the city during search operations, police said on Thursday.
On Tuesday, nine rescue teams comprising the Sub
Divisional Magistrate, labour department officials and Delhi
police carried out rescue operations at these offices in
North West and South Delhi.
Most of the rescued women hail from Assam and West Bengal
and one of them was found to be 6 months pregnant, claimed
The women claimed they had come to the capital after they
were promised lucrative jobs by these agencies, but most of
them were forced into flesh trade.
