Gadkari rally: Deranged man attempts self-immolation
Kolkata: A deranged man on Wednesday attempted
self-immolation during the speech of BJP president Nitin
Gadkari at a party rally here.
Gadkari was towards the end of his speech when the man
jumped in front of the stage and shouting 'mera bharat mahan'
before strewing some handwritten papers and dousing himself
with kerosene.
He was immediately caught by volunteers who removed
him from the venue.
Police said the man, identified as Bishnu Chowdhury, a
resident of Hooghly, was deranged.
