Steve Jobs to be given posthumous Grammy

Steve Jobs to be given posthumous Grammy Los Angeles: Steve Jobs, former CEO and co-founder of Apple, will be posthumously honored with the Trustees Award at the Grammys next year for transforming the way music is consumed.

Jobs, who died in October this year at the age of 56, will be honored alongside recording engineer Rudy Van Gelder and musician Dave Bartholomew at the annual ceremony on February 12.

"A creative visionary, Jobs' innovations such as the iPod and its counterpart, the online iTunes store, revolutionized the industry and how music was distributed and purchased," said the Recording Academy on the Grammys' website. In 2002 Apple Computer Inc. was a recipient of a Technical GRAMMY Award for contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.
