50 HMK activists arrested for hotel siege



Coimbatore: Fifty Hindu Makkal Katchi workers were arrested today when they tried to enter a reputed hotel here in protest against its proposed 'obscene' dance show, part of programmes got up for New Year celebrations on December 31.

The hotel had announced the programme agenda, included a dance, which the activists claimed were obscene and sought cancellation of such 'westernised culture', police said.

HMK workers raised slogans against the hotel management and tried to enter it, but were prevented by police, who arrested all of them.
