Tamil Nadu: 824 detained in storming operation
Chennai: More than 800 persons were taken into preventive custody here during a storming operation conducted last night, police said on Sunday.
In a release, police said 824 people were arrested by special teams formed at all police station levels to nab rowdies, old criminals and wanted persons.
A total of 89 persons facing non-bailable warrants were arrested as also 78 for drunken driving, it said.
