Sudan: No changes to 2011 border with south
Khartoum: Sudan's President Omar al-Bashir says his country will only resolve a border dispute with South Sudan by adhering to the UN-brokered agreement by which the south gained its independence last year.
Khartoum says it plans to participate in African Union-sponsored talks with South Sudan beginning Tuesday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Negotiations broke up earlier this month when the two sides disagreed over the location of a line to be the basis of a demilitarized zone.
Bashir's remarks today were quoted by the official SUNA news agency.
The two countries fought each other earlier this year near the disputed border.
