Manish Tewari urges Cong workers to get ready for 2014
Ludhiana: Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Manish Tewari on Sunday urged Congress members to put the past behind and unite to get ready for the 2014 general elections.
Tewari told party workers at a function here that "certain mistakes had been committed by certain people in the past, but all that should be put behind and everybody should unite and get ready for the final and decisive battle for 2014."
On his first visit to the city after becoming a minister, the Congress leader was accorded a warm welcome with party workers and local leaders, including sitting and former MLAs, besides ex-ministers joining the function to receive him.
"With the support of the people, not only will the Congress win from Ludhiana, the party will win all the 13 seats from Punjab," Tewari said.
He said whether it was starting flights from Ludhiana airport, cleaning of the Budha Nullah, starting the special Ludhiana-Dehli Shatabadi or the city bus services in Ludhiana, he had tried to fulfil most of the promises he had made during the 2009 campaign.
He said his priority was now to fulfil the remaining promises in one year.
