Digvijay Singh targets Ram Jethmalani over his 'CV'
New Delhi: Congress general secretary hit out at BJP MP Ram Jethmalani on Tuesday by listing out the clients of the legal luminary.
Digvijay tweeted, “Clients of Ram Jethmalani - Haji Mastan, Dawood Ibrahim Killers of Indira Gandhi, Killers of Rajiv Gandhi, Afzal Guru Baba Ramdev.”
“Amit Shah Yedurappa Harshad Mehta Ketan Parekh All Kashmiri Militants and Narendra Modi. Impressive CV of a BJP a Nationalist Party MP.”
Ram Jethmalani widely regarded as one of the best lawyers in the country has been in the news after he openly challenged the continuation of Nitin Gadkari as BJP president.
He courted controversy again after he referred to Lord Ram, the protagonist in the epic "Ramayana", as a bad husband for sending his wife Sita to exile for no specific reason.
"Ram was a bad husband. I don’t like him at all. Just because some fisherman said something, he sent that poor woman (Sita) to vanvaas (exile). Lakshman was even worse. When Sita was abducted, Ram asked him to go find her as she was abducted under his watch. Lakshman simply excused himself saying she was his sister-in-law and he never looked at her face, so he wouldn’t be able to identify her," he said at a book release function.
Digvijay had attacked Jethmalani then also. He had said, "It is better you understand who is Ram Jethmalani. Ram Jethmalani's remark on Lord Ram is condemnable. He defended the killers of Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi in court. He defended Kasab and Afzal Guru. So, what do we expect from such a person."
