Preventing radicalisation vital to fight terrorism: Mumbai police commissioner

Mumbai: Mumbai police commissioner Satyapal Singh today said there is a need to fight radicalisation to eliminate terrorism.

"Terrorism takes birth in the mind. Discrimination leads to intolerance, hatred leads to violence and violence with ideology mixed in it, leads to terrorism," Singh said, speaking on the occasion of the launch of a book by a city-based journalist.

"It is not a solution if one Kasab is executed. Others will come until radical preachers are neutralised. I request everyone to fight radicalisation," Singh said.

Speaking on the occasion, renowned lawyer Ram Jethmalani said that citizens should not tolerate the existence of institutions that impart non-secular education.
