NCTC will compromise national security: Narendra Modi
New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to not implement National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) as it could compromise security of Indians.
As per a report in CNN-IBN, Narendra Modi wrote a letter to the PM on Sunday claiming that setting up of NCTC could compromise safety and security of citizens of India.
"The proposed step is illegal and unconstitutional, and will compromise the safety and security of the people of India," Modi was quoted as saying.
Modi has claimed that most chief ministers, even those from Congress-ruled states, have opposed NCTC as it will weaken fight against terrorism and thereby compromise security of the nation.
