Water level in Mettur rises by 1 foot in 24 hrs
Salem: Copious inflows into the Mettur dam due to release of surplus water from two reservoirs in Karnataka has seen a nearly 10 foot rise in water level in the past 24 hours, PWD sources said.
They said the water level today was 29.10 feet, up from 19.59 feet yesterday. The full level is 120 feet.
The sources said water was being released from the Kabini and Krishnarajasagar dams in Karnataka and that Hemavathi and Harangi reservoirs are almost full.
The inflow had seen neary sharp increase from 4351 cusecs on June 27 to 37,969 cusecs, they said.
