Mumbai: Dancing legend Prabhudheva will appear in a spooky avatar in Karthik Subbaraj’s Mercury, a first-of-its-kind silent thriller. The teaser of the film was unveiled on Wednesday by Dhanush, Rana Daggubati, Nivin Pauly and Rakshit Shetty.

Subbaraj, who has written the film and the screenplay, took to Twitter Wednesday to share the teaser of the film which comes across as an extremely spooky one.

He tweeted: “Excited to share the teaser of my next film #Mercury starring @PDdancing. Hope you are all as thrilled by it as I am! Thank you @dhanushkraja @RanaDaggubati @NivinOfficial and @rakshitshetty for releasing it! (sic).”

Also starring Sananth, Indhuja, Deepak Paramesh, Shashank Purushotham, Anish Padmanabhan, the film is slated to release on Friday, the 13th of April, 2018. Well, the scary film is coincidentally releasing on Friday, the 13th!

Prabhudheva , a choreographer, actor and filmmaker said Mercury is a "unique experience" for him and described it as a unique film.  Talking about Mercury while interacting with fans on Twitter in January, Prabhudheva said – “Mercury' will be an interesting and exciting pan-India release.”

He will be seen playing an antagonist for the first time in his career.

When another fan asked him how he feels when he has accomplished a task and gains appreciation for it.

He said, “Success always gives happiness but it also brings the pressure of doing better... So I try to keep a cool, take success and failure with equal spirit.”

Karthik is bankrolling the project under his home banner, Stone Bench Films. The film has music by Santhosh Narayanan.
