Mumbai: Thousands bid adieu to - J Jayalalithaa - Tamil Nadu's iconic leader and people’s Chief Minister on Tuesday evening as she was laid to rest with full state honours near the MGR Memorial at Chennai's famous Marina Beach. Lovingly addressed as Amma (Mother) by her supporters, Jayalalithaa breathed her last on Monday night at 11.30 PM.
Before entering active politics, Jayalalithaa had cast an impressive spell on moviegoers with her acting skills. Actress Sridevi, who had begun her career as a child artiste, was fortunate to share screen space with Tamil Nadu’s iron lady.
Deeply saddened by the irreparable loss, Sridevi took to Twitter to share a classic movie still featuring her and the Late Tamil Nadu CM.
Sridevi tweeted: “The most articulate dignified, cultured & caring lady, lucky to have worked with her. I Along with millions of our people will miss her (sic).”

The image looks like a still from Tamil film ‘Aathi Parasakthi’ released in 1971 in which Jayalalithaa portrayed the role of Goddess Shakti and Sridevi essayed Lord Kartikeya.
