Mirpur: Ignored by the IPL franchises for the upcoming T20 extravaganza, Australian Cameron White on Tuesday expressed his disappointment while harbouring hopes of getting an opportunity to prove his worth at the World T20 here.
"Yeah, it was disappointing. But that`s the way it goes. Hopefully, in this tournament if I get an opportunity to do well, that would be good. There`s not much you can do about it now, is it," White said. After being given the cold shoulder for better part of the last six seasons, Australia`s current T20 skipper George Bailey will be leading Kings XI Punjab in IPL this time around while White, who led Sunrisers Hyderabad after Kumar Sangakkara sat out due to poor form last season, is without a team. Asked about franchises` mindset, White said, "Yes, I have captained Hyderabad. But you have to speak to the coaching staff there and get an understanding of their mindset!" Bailey, who is leading the Australian side in the ICC World T20 didn`t want to speak too much about IPL. "I am not sure. I am looking forward to doing that (leading KXIP) but there are more pressing matters and we will just look forward to that in next couple of weeks," Bailey said when asked whether sub-continental franchises are accepting him as a leader
