Incheon: Their confidence boosted by a 6-1 rout of Malaysia, Indian women hockey players are looking forward to their 17th Asian Games semi-final match against South Korea here on Monday.

At the Soenhak Hockey Stadium, India would look to do a repeat of the 2006 Asian Games in Doha when they outplayed South Korea 1-0 for the third position and the bronze medal.

In 2010 Guangzhou edition, India, pitted against the same opponent, fought hard before going down 0-1.

After their strong performance in the Pool A league matches, where India blanked Thailand 3-0 and thumped Malaysia 6-1, the women's team is well prepared to lock horns with the Pool B leader South Korea.

Indian eves have been successfully converting attacks into goals and have proved in the match against Malaysia that the players have the ability to score goals in each quarter.

Speaking ahead of the semi-final, Indian women hockey team's chief coach Neil Hawgood said, "With the recent form of our players, we are very much confident to reach the final of the Asian Games. South Korea is a higher-ranked team, remained unbeaten in their Pool, but we have the players who can win the match for us.

"Our team has already shown that we can convert opportunities into goals and we will take forward this form to the next match. We are very much ready for the semi-final clash."
