Hong Kong: American Grace Min set up a possible second-round clash with top seed Sabine Lisicki at the WTA Hong Open after overcoming Julia Glushko of Israel in straight sets on Monday.
Min, ranked 119 in the world, eased past Glushko 6-4, 6-2 in the southern Chinese city and will face Lisicki if the German defeats Monica Niculescu of Romania in round one.
In other first-round action Monday, the Netherlands` Kiki Bertens shocked eighth seed Anna Schmiedlova of Slovakia 6-2, 7-6 (7/5).
Former French Open champion Francesca Schiavone will play fourth seed Christina McHale of America in her opening match.
The tournament`s second seed is Slovak Daniela Hantuchova.
