Melbourne: After playing a terrific match in 4th round against Wawrinka, World No. 1 Novak Djokovic entered the semis of the men’s singles as he defeated fifth seed Tomas Berdych 6-1, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 in the quarterfinal of the Australian Open.

Djokovic took just 28 minutes to win the first set 6-1, but his Czech opponent bounced back and won the second game to level match 6-4. The third set was however a cakewalk for Djoker who won it 6-1.

Berdych managed to show some resistance once again in the fourth set where he saved three match points, but in-form Djokovic finally won the set 6-4.

Djokovic will face fourth seed David Ferrer who saved three match points and battled past fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro 4-6, 4-6, 7-5, 7-6, 6-2 to reach the semi-finals of the Australian Open on Tuesday.

The Super Serb had a fantastic last match where in an epic clash that lasted for five hours and two minutes, the defending champion defeated Switzerland`s Stanislas Wawrinka 1-6 7-5 6-4 6-7(5) 12-10 at Melbourne Park to move into the quarterfinals.

Djoker celebrated his emphatic win by tearing his T-shirt, like he did after winning the final last year in another epic battle against Rafael Nadal!

"It's always going to be tough against Tomas. If he's on, he can win against anyone on any surface," Djokovic said after the match.

Djokovic is seeking to become the first man in the professional era to win three successive Australian Open titles.
