Los Angeles: Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin faces a charge of misdemeanor battery from an incident last month in a Las Vegas nightclub, court records showed Wednesday.

The former NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion was charged following an alleged altercation with a man using a camera last October 19, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Griffin was reportedly annoyed at camera flashes in his face at the Venetian resort`s Tao nightclub.

Griffin, 25, is due to be arraigned on December 8 in Las Vegas. He faces up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine.

Last month, Clippers coach Doc Rivers expressed support for Griffin.

"He`s a great kid. We`ll figure it out and get through it," Rivers said. "I can`t say much but I feel very confident things will work out."

Griffin is averaging 24.3 points and 6.9 rebounds for the Clippers, who are off to a 4-3 start this season. He scored a career-high 24.1 points last season.
