NBA: Thunder star Durant`s season could be over, says club
Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant could miss the rest of the NBA season due to a recurring foot problem, his team said Friday.
The reigning NBA MVP`s rehabilitation has not been going as well as the team had expected, according to general manager Sam Presti.
"He`s not making the progress we had hoped," said Presti, who added that Durant could miss the rest of the season if his condition doesn`t improve.
Durant hasn`t played since February 19 and underwent a procedure a few days later to reduce soreness from a screw that was inserted when he had surgery in October to repair a fracture in the foot.
The initial surgery was performed to repair a broken toe. He returned on December 2 and in 27 games this season has averaged 25.4 points, 6.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists.
