Consortium members should sort out differences: Tharoor
Thiruvananthapuram: Former Union Minister Shashi Tharoor,MP, on Wednesday wanted Rendezvous Sports World-led consortium members to compromise and sort out their issues or `the consortium might lose the franchise for IPL-Kochi`.
Talking to reporters, Tharoo, mentor and wellwisher of the team, said the members should shed their egotistic position and comprimise for the benefit of the team.
Tharoor said he had talked to both sides and requested them to sort out issues.
Indian cricket board (BCCI) had recently served a notice to Kochi IPL franchisee asking them to resolve their disputes.
Tharoor said youhts of state view the IPL Kochi team as a team of Keralites. It will be betrayal if IPL Kochi was lost to Kerala, he said.
Rendezvous Sports World-led consortium had won the bid for the Kochi team for Rs 1,500 crore early this year.
