`BCCI will prepare fair wickets`

BCCI president N Srinivasan has said that sporting wickets and not rank turners would be prepared for Tests at home.

New Delhi: Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president N Srinivasan has said that sporting wickets and not rank turners would be prepared for Tests at home.
"Our aim is to give fair wickets and not one-sided ones," NDTV Tuesday quoted Srinivasan as saying. The interview was conducted before India`s opening batsman Gautam Gambhir accused Australia of doctoring pitches to suit the fast bowlers and said India should prepare turners to ensure a level playing field. Srinivasan was confident that the team would bounce back in next month`s ODI tri-series in Australia also involving Sri Lanka. "The team is there, they are in the midst of a series and it is a hope that they will bounce back. I mean, they had their moments; it is not like they didn`t have their chances. We have the ODI series with them. I have every faith that the team will bounce back," he said. Srinivasan said that India would not be content with home wins and the aim always is to get more away victories. "The intention, whenever our team goes out, is definitely to win. There is no such intention and neither will the BCCI be satisfied with a win at home. Not at all. It is our earnest endeavour to win whether at home or outside," he said. Srinivasan also denied that an overdose of cricket was taking a toll on Indian players. "If you take the last three years, England and Australia have played more number of days of international cricket than India has. I am including that (the IPL). And also excepting Mahendra Singh Dhoni, nobody else has played all the days of international cricket," he said IANS
