Kolkata: There was a dearth of good music directors and films lacked good themes, music legend Asha Bhonsle said on Friday."I am sorry to say that there is a dearth of good music directors which we had in our times ... More so, where are good themes for films?" Asha, who turns 75 next month, told a function organised to release her puja album here.
Stating that certain films were not perfectly named, she said "names of films should be selected to be acceptable to viewers". "What can be expected of these films which are not well named? What good can a viewer expect?" Asha, who has been a playback singer for over five decades, said. The music celebrity said she was worried for the next generation of singers. "How will they excel in life and earn fame? " Asha Bhonsle, who is stated to rank 37th in the global list of singers, said "don`t download and don`t steal if you want accomplishment in life. "Music should be sung to touch the hearts of listeners. It should be appealing," she said. Bureau Report
