`SL’s bowler friendly wickets behind Pak opening misery`
Pallakele: Pakistan batsman Mohammad Hafeez has said that he and his opening partner Ahmed Shehzad have failed in their World Cup campaign so far because of Sri Lanka’s bowler friendly wickets.
Hafeez and Shahzad have shared partnerships of 11, 28 and 16 in their three games, but the right-handed batsman defended it saying that fast bowlers were getting early assistance from the wickets in the island country.
“Here there is a lateral movement with the new white ball and the swing is also there,” the Daily Times quoted Hafeez, as saying.
“We don’t lack in confidence, we both are trying to give a long partnership and I hope it’s not that far,” he added.
Pakistan will next face New Zealand in the Group A game in Pallakele, Sri Lanka on Tuesday.
