Zimbabwe got off to a great start in the ODI series after Sean Williams dispatched Mohammad Irfan for a six for the winning runs. Zimbabwe won by seven wickets with ten balls remaining. While skipper Brendon Taylor played a composed innings, it was Williams’ cameo that proved to be extremely pivotal for the hosts.
Earlier, Maruma was the third wicket to fall as he mistimed a bouncer from Junaid Khan which went straight to Ahmed Shehzad at point. Taylor and Maruma added 25 runs for the third wicket.

Saeed Ajmal struck against when he dismissed Masakadza who had begun to look dangerous at the crease. Ajmal’s delivery was pitched outside the off-stump and Masakadza hit it straight to Misbah at short cover. Zimbabwe have scored 46 runs in the last ten overs and they now need 46 from the last ten overs.

Saeed Ajmal got the first breakthrough for his side when Sibanda’s fell into his trap and was beaten by a top spin delivery that hit him on the pads. Sibanda added 107 runs for the first wicket with Masakadza. Skipper Brendon Taylor has come to the crease and is now need 110 runs from 20 overs with nine wickets in hand.

And the openers continue to put an impressive show. They have now added 86 runs for the first wicket, 38 in the last ten overs. They are scoring at about four and a half runs every over and they have ten wickets intact. Zimbabwe now need 159 runs from 30 overs and it would be a great start for the hosts in the ODI series if they can chase down this total.

Zimbabwe openers have got their side to a decent start by adding unbeaten 48 runs for the first wicket, something which would be bothering Pakistan skipper Misbah-ul-Haq. After a confident start, Zimbabwe now need 197 runs to win from 40 overs. Both the batsmen have shown a lot of confidence, and it would be challenge for Zimbabwe to not crumble from here onwards.

Pakistan have posted 244/7 after choosing to bat first in the first ODI against Zimbabwe at Harare. Misbah with 83*(85b, 4X3, 6X2) was the highest scorer for the visitors. For Zimbabwe, Vitori and Chatara picked two wickets each while Utseya proved to be the most expensive leaking 60 runs in his 10 overs while managing one wicket. Shahid Afridi was the fifth wicket to fall after being given out caught behind off Vitori. He could only manage 11 (15b, 4X2). Haris Sohail was the next to depart after being caught brilliantly by Utseya at short extra cover. Sarfraz Ahmed became the second batsman to be dismissed via run out in the Pakistan innings. He scored 7 (18b)
PAKISTAN Over 40 || Score 190/4
Pakistan have lost two more wickets in the last 10 overs. Hafeez was the third wicket to fall after he was caught by Maruma off Chatara. He scored 70 (71b, 4X6, 6X3). Umar Amin followed him to the pavilion in the next over after being run out. He scored 1 (1b). At the crease for Pakistan are Misbah ul Haq and Shahid Afridi.
PAKISTAN Over 30 || Score 134/2
Off the 21st over came seven runs including a boundary to Misbah. The next was a maiden by Chatara. 10 runs were scored in the 24th over including a boundary to Hafeez. Off the fourth delivery of the 25th over, Hafeez hit Utseya for a six over long on. Three boundaries were scored by Hafeez off Malcolm Walker in the 29th over. Three runs came in the 30th over.

Pakistan have lost the wicket of both their openers Ahmed Shehzad and Nasir Jamshed. The former fell to Utseya in the 15th over after being stumped. He scored 24 (47b, 4X2). New batsman Mohammad Hafeez hit Utseya for consecutive sixes in the 19th over. Off the final delivery of the 20th over, Jamshed was caught by wicketkeeper Brendon Taylor off Chatara. Jamshed departed after scoring 27 (53b, 4X2).

Ahmed Shehzad scored the first boundary of the Pakistan innings in the sixth over bowled by Brian Vitori. Nine runs came in it. Off the seventh came just three while two boundaries came in the next – both to Nasir Jasmhed. Sibanda dropped a catch at second slip in the seventh over as Jamshed got a thick outside edge that went to his left. Off ninth came two while three runs came in the 10th.

Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq won the toss and elected to bat first. Tinashe Panyangara began the proceedings for Zimbabwe. For Pakistan Ahmed Shehzad and Nasir Jamshed opened the innings. The first over was a maiden. Brian Vitori bowled the next and gave away four runs in it. The third again was a maiden. Off the fourth came five runs including 4 leg byes. The fifth over saw the batting team add four more runs to the total. So far, it has been a sedate start from Pakistan.
