2nd Test, Day 3: Hashim Amla frustrates England with brilliant comeback ton

New Delhi: South African Test skipper Hashim Amla led from the front as he slammed a stupendous fighting ton against England on Day 3 of the 2nd Test being played at Newlands on Monday.

Amla, who was struggling for form, put the hosts on the top with an unbeaten 157-run knock.

Amla and AB de Villiers added 183 runs for the second-wicket partnership before the latter was dismissed by Steven Finn for 88, which was the only wicket to fall in the day.

The partnership between Amla and AB lasted for two minutes short of five hours.

After AB's dismissal, an unperturbed Amla added unbeaten 85 runs with Faf du Plessis (51).

At stumps, the Saffers reached 353 for three, still 276 runs behind England`s first innings total of 629 for six declared.
