Sohail Tanvir was the last wicket to fall after he pulled a short ball from McLaren straight to Amla at midwicket. Earlier, Wahab Riaz’s fighting knock came to an end when he edged one from Morne Morkel to the keeper. In the next over, Tahir picked his fourth wicket of the match when Ajmal was trapped in front of the wicket. Pakistani batsmen failed to capitalise on the excellent start provided by the openers, and South Africa now lead the series 2-1. Riaz has been the more aggressive batsman and he has instilled some confidence into Tanvir, who is now scoring boundaries every now and then. While Pakistan still need 92 runs from the last ten overs, these two have given their fans something to cheer after a poor show from the middle order. Misbah wanted to review the decision and it was too late by the time he made up his mind. Tahir picked his second wicket of the match when Umar Akmal hit a full-toss straight into his hands off his own bowling. Asad Shafiq and Shahid Afridi too fell in quick successions and Pakistan are now wobbling at 118/7. The decision was then reviewed by South Africa and the change was made. 35 runs have been scored in the last ten overs and once again, Misbah has to play a captain’s knock. Shehzad in particular, played some magnificent strokes including two pull shots that raced towards boundary, off Morne Morkel. Steyn finally got the breakthrough when Shehzad edged one to Hashim Amla at first slip. From 50/0, Pakistan were 52/2 within no time as Hafeez played a cut shot which was very well taken by Faf du Plessis at point. It is a good score considering the South African bowling line-up. Pakistan will have to pull out something special to win this match.
