After Kolkata Knight Riders, Yusuf Pathan signs up for new franchise

New Delhi: Yusuf Pathan played a key in propelling Kolkata Knight Riders to the playoffs in the recently concluded Indian Premier League.

The explosive right-hander scored 361 runs in 15 outings at an average of 72 and and a strike rate of 145.56.

The Baroda cricketer's best batting display came against Virat Kohli's RCB when he compiled an unbeaten 63-run knock.

The IPL is now over and Yusuf is not part of BCCI's plans for any upcoming series. Hence he has opted to take his talents to the Dhaka Premier League, which is Bangladesh’s domestic 50-overs tournament.

Yusuf will represent Abahani Limited in the DPL, which also features the likes of Manoj Tiwary, Manvinder Bisla, Jalaj Saxena, Ashok Menaria and Rajat Bhatia.

Many believed that the 33-year-old should have been picked for the Zimbabwe tour. For now however, it appears like the end of the road for Yusuf at least in India colors.
