Dharamsala: Anurag Thakur, son of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister P K Dhumal and a Member of Parliament, was today unanimously re-elected as the president of the state cricket association here.
For Thakur, it will be the third consecutive stint as the president of Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).
Thakur, who was re-elected during the HPCA’s Annual General Meeting, first took up the baton in 2000 and since then has transformed the HPCA into an established force in the national cricket scenario.
Today the association has a beautiful and picturesque stadium here right in the lad of snow-clad Dhauladhar mountain range. The venue, which has hosted the Indian Premier League matches, is equipped with all the modern facilities.
Thakur is also the youngest president of any state cricket association affiliated to the BCCI.
