London: England pacer Tim Bresnan has been ruled for fourth Ashes Test and the following Twenty20 and one-day internationals against Australia with a stress fracture in his lower back.

Bresnan was being hailed by the British media for his commendable performance in the ongoing Ashes series. The right-arm pacer wasn’t the first choice for the selectors and was included for the second Test from where he has picked 10 wickets in six innings and has scored some crucial runs.

Bresnan scored pivotal 45 runs in the second innings of the fourth Test which helped England to defeat Australia by 74 runs and win the series.

Even though England have sealed the series already, Bresnan’s injury could be a major blow to their chance of a 4-0 victory over the Aussies.

As per reports, he will be replaced by either Chris Tremlett or Steven Finn.
