New Delhi: Indian cricketers Ishant Sharma and Suresh Raina have been finally shown the doors by the Indian selectors, for their below-par performances, while choosing the team for the the Asia Cup and World Twenty20. The southpaw, Raina has been struggling with his batting for quite some time now. Raina only managed to score a half-century, that too against Zimbabwe, in the last 24 ODIs that he has played. In fact, due to his his poor, he was dropped from the playing XI in the last two matches during the five-match ODI series in New Zealand. In place of Raina, selectors shown confidence in Cheteshwar Pujara, who replaced the UP batsman for the Asia Cup, starting from February 25. Though, for the World Twenty20, which is also to take place in Bangladesh from March 1, selectors retained the left-hander. Whereas, Ishant Sharma, who has never shown consistency throughout his career so far, has been thrown out from both the high-profile events. The Delhi pacer, has been erratic since India played Australia at home and never used his experience to gave the batsmen a run for their money. Ishant hasn`t learnt from his mistakes and has been hit all over the park during the recently concluded ODI series against Kiwis, in which India were thrashed by New Zealand 4-0.
